BURDIZZO BOOKS

Burdizzo Books began in 2016 when author Matthew Cash created the publishing house after compiling two successful horror anthologies. He teamed up with fellow author Em Dehaney shortly after its conception. At Burdizzo Books we primarily specialise in horror, as we are all spooky kids in the Burdizzo Soft Play Area, but we want to be as diverse as we possibly can do not in anyway limit ourselves to just one genre. We like to think there aren't any rules with our books (aside from the boring spellingz and grammmmmars) other than to entertain the reader and the writer. We love our charity anthologies, and there is usually one in the pipeline. We always aim to look at submissions from newbies.

MATTHEW CASH

Matthew Cash, or Matty Bob-Cash as he is known to most, was born and raised in Suffolk - the setting for his debut novel Pinprick. He is the compiler and editor of Death by Chocolate, a chocoholic horror anthology, and the 12 Days: Stocking Fillers anthology. In 2016 he launched Burdizzo Books and took shit-hot editor Em Dehaney on board to keep him in shape, and together they brought into existence The Reverend Burdizzo's Hymnbook, Sparks: An Electrical Horror Anthology, Under The Weather and Visions from the Void, Welcome to a Town called Hell, and Burdizzo Mix Tape Volume 1.

He has numerous solo releases on Kindle, Audible and several collections in paperback.

Originally with Burdizzo Books, the intention was to compile charity anthologies a few times a year, but his creation has grown into something so much more powerful.  *Insert mad laughter here*. He is always working on numerous projects, and his third novel Fur was launched in 2018.

He has always written stories since he first learnt to write and most, athough not all, tend to slip into the many layered murky depths of the horror genre.

His influences range from when he first started reading to the present day, are, to name but a select few, Roald Dahl, James Herbert, Clive Barker, Stephen King, Stephen Laws, William Meikle and Iain Rob Wright (who featured Matty-Bob in his famous A-Z of Horror Title M is for Matty-Bob) plus Matthew wrote his own version of events which was included as a bonus.

He is a father of two, a husband of one, and a zoo-keeper of numerous fur babies.

EM DEHANEY

Em Dehaney is a mother of two, a writer of fantasy and a drinker of tea. By night she is The Black Nun; editor and whip-cracker at Burdizzo Books.

Her debut novel The Searcher Of The Thames, a tale of tea and cake, weed and water, magic and murder set in her hometown of Gravesend, was released in 2020 and is now available on Amazon.
